For
directions to our cabin rental in the Colorado Mountains,
take
I-25 North
from Denver or I-25 South from Wyoming to Hwy 14
exit at Ft. Collins, CO.
Hwy 14
West to Hwy 287 (Take a right on Riverside Street and then
another right at College Ave)
Hwy
287 North (right - you'll see signs to Laramie, WY and Poudre
Canyon)
At
this point Hwy 14 and Hwy 287 follow one another.
Be
sure to now follow the Hwy 287 signs as Hwy 14 will soon turn off
the Poudre Canyon and not go to
Red Feather Lakes.
You'll
stay on beautiful Hwy 287 for about 20 miles until you come to the
landmark The Forks Restaurant. Take a
left here onto Hwy 74E. At this restaurant you might want
to stop for some of their fabulous home-baked goods, stretch a bit
or get gas. They even have a bulletin board to leave a note for
friends you might be meeting and have missed.
Then
continue on Hwy 74E for about 24 miles. This is a lovely drive on
well maintained paved road- if you are traveling at dawn or dusk
be watchful of deer and elk that often cross the road in this
stretch.
You'll
go through Glacier View Meadows and soon begin to see signs
for Red Feather Lakes.
You
will pass beautiful Parvin Lake, see signs for Red Feather Lakes
Village, and pass Prairie Divide Road.
Watch
for the Pot Belly Restaurant up a hill on the right after
you have passed the Red Feather Lakes Village signs. After passing
the Pot Belly Restaurant, be watching for a green sign that says
Red Feather Lakes School.
Take a
right here. This is Creedmore Lakes Road. This is Hwy
73C
now and is a well-maintained dirt road.
Stay
on this road for exactly 4.2 miles. You are looking for
Comanche Court.
Take a right onto Comanche Court. You will
soon come to a fork in the road. Take a left at the fork, going
downhill. Very quickly you will see a driveway to the left. Take
this left and catch your first glimpse through the aspen and pine
of Mountain Rose. You will find a coded key box near the door. Use
the code we gave you when we confirmed your reservation to open
the lock box and retrieve the key.
Unpack
. . . relax . . . enjoy.
