Red Feather Lakes is a photographers dream when it comes to wildlife.  Moose, deer, birds of all kinds are abound, and if you bring your camera, you're sure not to be disappointed!  Far from the noise and congestion of "the city", Red Feather Lakes is home to many more animals such as elk, antelope, mule deer, bears, quail, grouse, mountain lions, bighorn sheep and wild turkey.

Suggested Places to find wildlife in Red Feather Lakes

Mt Margaret Trail: 4 miles one way, starting elevation: 8,093, peak elevation: 8,183.
Level of difficulty: Easy
Popular with hikers and mountain bikers alike.

Killpecker Trail: 4.2 miles one way, starting elevation: 9,180, peak elevation: 10,920.
Level of difficulty: Moderate
The trail ascends from Deadman Road to the Bald Mountain Jeep Trail at Middle Bald Mountain, follow the Forest Service markers.
